You cannot edit a document in SignNow once it has been signed or its fields have been completed. For example, after signing, you cannot change your signature, add new fields, turn the document into a template, or generate a signing link.
This restriction exists for legal and security reasons—to protect the document's integrity, maintain the validity of the digital certificate, and ensure compliance with eSignature regulations.
After signing, you can still manage the document using the available options in the document menu (as shown in the screenshot below), such as downloading, sharing, or storing it.
If you need to ensure you can add additional information to the document after the previous signer had completed their portion of it, you need to preset the document in advance in a way that allows you to sign the document during the last signing step.
Add another signing role intended for yourself in the Recipients tab.
Ensure that you assign the fields you need to fill out to your signing role (they will be marked in a different color).
On the Invite Page, ensure that the Recipients receive document in order setting is enabled, and that your signing role is assigned to the last signing step.
