Get Documents Signed Faster with Invite Reminders

Updated over 2 months ago

Setting reminders on your SignNow invites ensures that signers are automatically notified when they haven’t completed a document. This is especially helpful in multi-signer workflows — whether consecutive (one signer after another) or simultaneous (all signers at once). Automatic reminders keep the signing process moving, reduce follow-up emails, and help you meet deadlines without manually tracking every invite. By configuring reminders before sending a document, you can maintain visibility and control over every step of your signing workflow.

The option to set reminders is available on the Invite Page. Click the gear icon next to a specific recipient to open the Authentication and Settings panel on the right side of the screen. From there, you can configure how and when SignNow sends automatic reminders to your recipients.

You can choose from the following reminder settings:

  • Send Reminder in X Days – Sends a one-time reminder a set number of days after the initial invite is sent. For example, setting this to “3 days” will remind the recipient three days after they first received the document.

  • Send Reminder every X Days – Sends recurring reminders at the specified interval until the recipient completes the signing process or the document expires. This option helps keep signers engaged and prevents delays in multi-step or team signing workflows.

  • Send Reminder in X Days before Expiration – Sends a reminder to the signer a certain number of days before the document’s expiration date. This is useful for ensuring all parties complete their part before the document becomes invalid.

These settings help you automate follow-ups, reduce manual tracking, and ensure your signing process continues smoothly until all signatures are collected.

If the invite has already been sent, you can still set up or adjust reminders. To do this, navigate to your Documents folder, click the recipient’s email address under the document name and status, then select Change Expiration. In the pop-up window, you’ll be able to configure or update the reminder settings as needed.
