Uploading a document in the SignNow mobile app (iOS/Android) is the first step to creating a smooth signing workflow from your phone or tablet. With just a few taps, you can import files directly from your device storage, take a photo with your camera, or connect cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Once uploaded, your document is ready for editing, adding fields, sending invites, or signing yourself. This feature is especially useful for professionals working on the go—whether you’re collecting client signatures in person, processing approvals while traveling, or managing contracts without access to a computer.
Uploading to SignNow
1. Open the SignNow app for iOS/Android and ensure that you've logged in.
2. Click the +Create button at the bottom of the screen.
3. Choose Document Source:
Upload File – Import files directly from your device’s internal storage. Supported formats include .doc, .docx, .pdf, .png, and .jpg, so you can work with text documents, contracts, images, or scanned copies.
Upload Photo – Select an existing photo from your device’s gallery. Useful for uploading images of signed paper documents, IDs, or any form saved as a picture.
Upload from Cloud – Connect to cloud storage providers like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or iCloud to pull documents without needing to download them first. This is convenient if you often store work files online.
Scan Document – Use your phone’s camera as a scanner to capture physical documents on the spot. SignNow will convert your scan into a digital file ready for signing. (You’ll need to allow camera permissions if prompted.)
Create Folder – Organize your uploaded documents into folders directly in the app. This helps you keep client contracts, HR forms, or project files neatly separated and easy to find.
Test Document – Generate a sample document provided by SignNow to practice using app features like adding fields, sending invites, or testing the signing flow before working with real documents.
📝 The maximum size of one individual document uploaded into the app is 50 MB.
📝 Depending on whether you tap the +Create option in the Documents folder or subfolder, your document will be automatically uploaded to the folder you are currently in.
