Documents & Templates Preparation

Updated over 3 months ago

What is the difference between Documents and Templates?

Documents are files you upload, edit, and sign in SignNow.

Templates act as master versions of your documents, allowing you to quickly generate new documents with the same structure. Using templates helps save time and ensures consistency for frequently used forms.

How do I turn my document into a fillable form?

You can convert a document into a fillable form by adding fillable fields and assigning roles in SignNow’s editing mode.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

To view all available keyboard shortcuts, open any document in editing mode, click the Settings icon in the top-right corner, and select Keyboard Shortcuts.

Keyboard shortcuts allow you to quickly add specific field types, copy and paste fields, delete fields, navigate forward or backward through fields, download documents, and more.

How do I upload documents to SignNow?

In your SignNow account, click Upload or Create and choose one of the available upload options.

You can upload documents from your computer or mobile device, import them from cloud storage services, insert them via a link, or create documents from scratch.

What is a merged document group in SignNow?

A merged document group is a collection of separate documents combined into a single file for signing.

For signers, this appears as one continuous document rather than multiple individual files. All pages are displayed in sequence, allowing the signer to review and complete the documents in a single signing session.

How can I eSign my own documents?

Upload your document and open it in editing mode. In the Me (Fill Out Now) section on the left, select My Signature, then click where you want to place your signature.

You can type, draw, or upload your signature, then click Sign to add it to the document. Once placed, the signature can be resized or repositioned as needed.
