In SignNow, signers can save a document as a draft and return later to finish signing. This feature is especially useful when working with larger or more complex documents where immediate completion isn’t possible.
For example:
Double-checking information – You may want to review details like contract terms, payment amounts, or personal data before signing.
Waiting for additional documents – Some agreements require supporting files (IDs, certificates, or approvals) that you don’t have on hand right away.
Confirming with others – You might need to consult a manager, legal team, or family member before proceeding.
Clarifying with the sender – If a field seems unclear or the instructions are incomplete, pausing lets you reach out to the sender for clarification.
By saving progress as a draft, you avoid losing the information you’ve already filled in and can pick up exactly where you left off once you’re ready to complete the signing process.
📝 The option to save progress as a draft is unavailable for guest invite links (invite links generated from a template).
SignNow Web/Desktop Signing
To finish signing the document at a later time, hit the More Actions button at the top right side and select the option to Save Progress and Finish Later. In the pop-up, select the Finish Later button to close the document for now and save your progress.
If you have an account with SignNow, you can locate your draft documents in the Documents folder. If you do not have an account with SignNow, you can use the View Document button from the original email invite to get back to signing and completing the form.
SignNow Web/Mobile Signing
If you need more time to double-check something before completing the document, you can save your current progress in the signing session settings. Tap on the document name at the top left side of the screen and select the option to Save Progress and Finish Later.
